What are cache and cookies?

A cache stores data from the website (such as text or images) to speed up the page loading process for future use.


A cookie is a small text file sent to a web browser, that was created by a website you visited, that is stored on your computer. These files store information like usernames and usernames to make the site more useful to you.

What are common issues caused by cache and cookies?


Your browser tends to save these files. Even if they are relatively small in size, they will accumulate over time. It could cause performance issues on your browser. 


Issues may include:

    -  Slow device performance

    -  Problems logging into Workspace/website

    -  Unusual Errors

How to clear cache and cookies?

  1. Chrome

    Step 1: Open Google Chrome 

    Step 2: At the top right, locate and click More

    Step 3: More tools > Clear browsing data


    Step 4: Clear browsing data...

  2. Firefox

    Step 1: Open Firefox

    Step 2: At the top right, Click the menu button  and select Settings.

    Step 3: Select Privacy & Security

    Step 4: Press Clear Data...

  3. Safari

    Step 1: Open Safari

    Step 2: In the top bar, Locate and click Settings  

    Step 3: Privacy > Cookies and website data > Manage Website data

    Step 4: Remove or Remove All

  4. Edge

    Step 1: Open Edge

    Step 2: At the top right, locate and click More 

    Step 3: Settings > Privacy & Security
    Step 4: Clearing Browsing Data > Clear browsing data now
    Step 5: Select "Cached images and files" and "Cookies and other site data" > Clear
