How to write over a document in Docupace?

Writing over a Document in Docupace

Use Cases:
> Useful for Wet Signing when you already have a work item. 
> For when you have an incomplete document uploaded to a work item and you have a completed version downloaded onto your computer you’d like to replace them with. 
> For uploading a completed document into a client sub-folder


Getting Started

Follow these steps:

  1. Download the completed document to a location on your computer that you will be able to find later. When downloading from Docupace, the form will likely go to your Downloads folder if not saved elsewhere.
  2. Log into Docupace and navigate to the work item.
  3. Look for the client documents section of the work item and search for the pencil icon located in the document you want to change. The location of the pencil icon is circled in red in the image below. It will only appear when hovering your cursor over the work item client document.


Step 1.


  • Click the pencil Icon that says Details.
    • This will bring you to the Client Document Details Page


Step 2.


  • Under details scroll down until you find Upload File section.


Step 3.


  • From here you can either drag and drop a copy of your completed document or click the Check In option.
  • The Check In option will open a Direct File Uploader box.
    • You will click add file.

    • Add file will open up your file explorer and you just need to find you file and click it.

    • From there you will press the Start Upload button.

    • This will upload your completed document over the one missing the changes.

Done.


  • Once the file is uploaded, Click Save and Close
  • You have now overwritten a document


Additional Steps.


  1. Make sure you check the work item client document to ensure that the completed document has been uploaded over the original
  2. If you have uploaded all completed document into the work item and you know you’re done, Click send for review button at the top of the page.
