The first time you select a Sign or Initial field on a document you're about to sign, you're asked to adopt a style for your signature or initials

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Adopting a signature

  1. When you select a Sign or Initial field on a document, a window opens displaying your name and initials in the default DocuSign signature style. It's important to verify that your Full Name and Initials are correct.

  2. If you want to use a different predefined style, you can select Change Style(optional).

  3. In the panel on the right, you can scroll through the signature styles and select one that you like (optional).
    • Once you select a style, it will be applied in the preview and the list will close.

  4. Before selecting ADOPT AND SIGN, make sure that your signature or initials are correct.
    • Once you select ADOPT AND SIGN, your signature or initials will be set and cannot be changed for this document.
    • In the future, when you sign a document sent to the same name and email address, DocuSign will automatically use the signature and initials you adopted for that account.
  5. After you adopt and sign the document, you'll be asked if you want to create a free DocuSign account and save a copy of the document to it.
    • It's recommended that you consider performing this step as it will allow you to manage your signatures through your account.

Draw your signature

Note: If you can't see the DRAW and UPLOAD options, the sender might have disabled them

If you don't like any of the predefined signature styles you can write your own.

  1. When you select a Sign or Initial field on a document, a window will open. To draw your signature or initials, select the DRAW tab.
  2. (Optional) In the DRAW YOUR SIGNATURE or DRAW YOUR INITIALS field, use a mouse or, for touchscreens, your finger or a stylus to draw your signature or initials.

If you make a mistake, select Clear at the upper-right corner just above your signature to reset the field
  3. Once you've drawn your signature or initials, double-check that they're correct, and then select ADOPT AND SIGN
    • After you select ADOPT AND SIGN, your signature or initials will be set, and you won't be able to modify them for this document.
    • In the future, when you sign a document sent to the same name and email address, DocuSign will automatically use the signature and initials you adopted for that account.
  4. You'll be prompted to create a free DocuSign account and save a copy of the document to it. It's recommended that you consider doing this as it will allow you to manage your signatures through your account.

Upload an image of your signature or initials

Note: If you can't see the DRAW and UPLOAD options, the sender might have disabled them

    2. Use the slider to increase or decrease the signature size.
    3. Click the image, then move it within the rectangle.
